Head and Neck Cancer – The Journey

Today was the day I was informed that I had cancer in right tonsil and also in 2 lymph nodes in my neck.

Having had previous head and neck cancer surgery in 2011, it’s deemed that having further surgery would be too invasive, plus there would still be a case for treatment with radiotherapy after surgery.

So plan is to start with a course of Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy for 7 weeks, having treatment Monday to Friday.

Although I had a good idea that it would be cancer again I was more shocked at how the treatment will affect me before, during and after.

A lot to take in on one day, so this is the start of my journey to getting treatment and ultimately becoming cancer free again 🙏
